Head of Business Development

Location: Greater Seattle Area

We are seeking a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, go-getter Head of Business Development to lead Universal Standard's strategic partnership/collaboration strategy, driving customer leads, revenue and securing strategic partnerships with maximum marketing value and impact. You will be responsible for brainstorming, initiating, structuring, negotiating and managing the execution of all strategic partnerships and collaborations. The ability to succeed in a fast-paced, startup environment is a must. The ideal candidate will have marketing skills to generate ideas, sales skills to close the deal, and creativity to establish strategic partnerships and collaborations with other brands in a way that achieves each party’s goals. 

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop a strategy to maximize partnerships and view all partnerships from a marketing, ROI, and community-building perspective
  • Develop strategic roadmap of industries, categories, products, brands that align with Universal Standard's overall mission and goals
  • Cultivate and develop new partner relationships, qualify prospects, and determine partnership viability
  • Identify, target and outline Universal Standard’s value proposition to prospective partners
  • Develop an efficient yet strategic business development process including objectives, strategies and key milestones and execute that strategy
  • Close a minimum of five (5) new high impact deals per year
  • Ensure focus on KPIs 
  • Work closely with the marketing team to generate ideas and collateral required to support the business development pipeline, pitches and process from strategic to tactical including creative ideas, presentations, term sheets, and promotional and sponsorship opportunities

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Business or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of business and partnership development experience, experience in ecommerce and fashion a plus
  • A proven track record of success with experience in prospecting and negotiating deals 
  • A track record of creating unique concepts, campaigns or promotional extensions which can be attributed to you
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment 
  • Tech savvy
